Using this site

By accessing or purchasing from museofthanu.com (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using this site or placing an order.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Muse of Thanu, in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

Handloom characteristics & product representation

Every Muse of Thanu saree is handcrafted and handwoven. Subtle variations in texture, yarn thickness, slubs, selvedge, and minor motif asymmetries are the distinctive signatures of artisanal handlooms, not defects.

Colour reproduction may vary slightly depending on your device's screen settings, resolution, and lighting conditions. We photograph each piece in natural and controlled atelier light to represent it as accurately as possible.

Product availability is subject to stock at our atelier. Because many weaves are produced in limited batches or as single creations, an item may sell through before an order is finalised.

Orders, pricing & payment

An order placed on the Site represents an offer to purchase. A binding contract is formed when you receive our electronic order confirmation.

All prices listed on the Site are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Payments are securely processed via Razorpay, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator. We accept UPI, major credit/debit cards, net banking, wallets, and supported EMI options. We do not store raw card numbers or confidential banking credentials on our servers.

Order cancellation is permitted only prior to order dispatch. Because orders are typically dispatched within 1 working day, please contact us immediately at store@museofthanu.com if you require a cancellation. Once dispatched, the shipment must be processed under our Returns Policy.

Shipping & delivery terms

We currently ship exclusively within India to serviceable pincodes. Pincode serviceability is verified at checkout.

Orders are prepared, inspected, and dispatched from our atelier within 1 working day following order confirmation.

Logistics and delivery fulfillment are handled by our courier partner, Delhivery. Deliveries generally take approximately 3–4 business days from dispatch, depending on destination pincode, weather conditions, public holidays, or festive logistics. Delivery timelines are estimates and not legally guaranteed.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery details (recipient name, full address, landmark, valid pincode, and reachable phone number). Muse of Thanu is not responsible for misdelivery or courier return arising from incorrect details provided by the customer.

Parcel receipt, unboxing video & transit damage claims

Customers are required to record a single, continuous, uninterrupted unboxing video from the moment the sealed parcel is received through to complete inspection of the saree and contents.

The video must display the sealed parcel from all sides, shipping label, visible damage on outer packaging, continuous opening, tags, and any claimed defect or transit damage in clear focus without cuts or pauses.

In accordance with our courier partner's (Delhivery) claims process, damage or tampering occurring during transit must be reported to store@museofthanu.com within 48 hours of delivery along with the unboxing video, outer packaging photos, and order ID. All original courier packaging, tags, and labels must be retained unaltered.

Returns & refund policy

Eligible returns are accepted within 7 calendar days of delivery for unworn, unwashed, unaltered sarees retaining all original tags, labels, and muslin packaging.

Items that have been worn, washed, custom tailored, or altered, or items purchased during special clearance promotions are strictly non-returnable.

Approved refunds are credited back to the original payment method (via Razorpay) within 5–7 business days following physical receipt and successful quality inspection at our Mysore atelier.

Original shipping fees are non-refundable. For returns initiated due to preference, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

Intellectual property

All content on this Site — including photography, visual identity, copywriting, brand marks, logos, and digital assets — is the exclusive intellectual property of Muse of Thanu.

Reproduction, commercial exploitation, redistribution, or mirroring of any content without prior written permission is strictly prohibited.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Muse of Thanu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our Site or purchase of products.

Our total liability for any verified claim arising out of or related to an order shall not exceed the actual amount paid by the customer for that specific order.

Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes arising hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the Republic of India.

The competent courts of Mysore, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any legal dispute, subject to applicable mandatory consumer protection laws.

Grievance redressal & customer support

In compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, for any grievances, questions, or dispute resolution, you may contact our Grievance Officer at store@museofthanu.com.

We aim to acknowledge customer communications within 48 hours and resolve verified grievances in an expeditious manner.
